At the start of her career, she joined a research chair on women in STEM fields at Université Laval and then returned to UQAM in 2003 as a research officer in the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur la science et la technologie (CIRST), where she spent a decade supporting the centre's communications and event planning initiatives.
